Atomos has unveiled the latest version of its Monitor OS, AtomOS 11.06.00, introducing a suite of new features for Ninja and Shogun monitor/recorders. This update enhances streaming capabilities and extends the Atomos workflow to Fujifilm users, particularly for LOG2 and ProRes RAW recording.

New Streaming and Camera-to-Cloud Support

Camera-to-Cloud Integration

The standout feature in AtomOS 11.06.00 is the new camera-to-cloud support, which utilizes secure reliable transport (SRT) streaming. This is a game-changer for filmmakers, integrating streaming into their workflow even for cameras without native streaming capabilities. By leveraging Atomos Ninja and Shogun devices, users can now send original camera files directly to the cloud, significantly accelerating the post-production process.

Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) Protocol

SRT, an open-source protocol developed by Haivision, ensures secure, high-resolution video streaming with low latency over public internet connections. It optimizes video quality on unstable networks by using a simplified firewall concept to eliminate jitter, packet loss, and bandwidth fluctuations. The update includes both caller and listener SRT modes, offering 128/256-bit encryption and adaptable bandwidth for a seamless streaming experience. Supported resolutions include HD and 720p, with frame rates from 23.98 to 60 fps.

MediaSilo Integration

Atomos has integrated EditShare’s MediaSilo application into the Atomos Cloud Studio, enhancing user access and configuration. This integration simplifies the camera-to-cloud workflow, providing users with a more streamlined and flexible experience. EditShare CEO Ramu Potarazu highlighted the benefits of this collaboration, emphasizing the improved speed and flexibility for customers.

Subscription Benefits

Purchasers of Atomos Connect (for Ninja V, V+, Ninja, or Ninja Ultra), Shogun, or Shogun Ultra monitor/recorders will receive a complimentary all-inclusive subscription to Cloud Studio and MediaSilo, enhancing the value of their investment.

Fujifilm F-Log2 and ProRes RAW Support

The update also introduces full support for Fujifilm F-Log2, improving color accuracy for Rec 709/BT2020 color gamut in YCC video, ProRes RAW, and proxy recordings. This enhancement ensures more precise color processing for videos and images captured with supported Fuji cameras, making the Atomos platform even more attractive for content creators.

Availability and Installation

AtomOS 11.06.00 is available as a free download from the Atomos Support website for all compatible Ninja and Shogun devices. Atomos recommends that Ninja Ultra devices be connected to main power during the firmware update. Detailed instructions for the update process are available on the Atomos website.
