Miofive has broken the mold and announced the release of its S1 Ultra arguably the first dash camera kit to boast dual 4K cameras. This innovative technology provides detailed coverage of both road-ahead and behind-the-driver scenes, a feature surely to revolutionize dashboard cameras.
While a significant proportion of front-and-rear dash cameras compromise on either video quality or directional coverage, the S1 Ultra offers unrivaled quality in both domains, setting a new industry standard with its 4K dual camera system. Despite debates over the necessity of 4K dash cameras, the ability to capture high-resolution footage detailing potential accidents or events could be critical in any subsequent inquiries or investigations.
The S1 Ultra stands tall with 8MP image sensors in both cameras capturing crisp 4K footage at 30 frames per second, ensuring no detail is missed. The front camera boasts a wide viewing angle of 140° while the rear camera provides a 112° viewing angle to maintain comprehensive surveillance of the vehicle’s surroundings.
Unveiling the Miofive S1 Ultra
The S1 Ultra equips a built-in GPS for location tracking and a 3-inch LCD IPS display on the front unit. Additionally, it offers an optional hardwiring kit facilitating 24-hour parking modes at a small additional cost ($30/£30). With the G-sensor implemented, it can differentiate between regular one-frame-per-second time-lapse video or when collision detection is required.
Featuring dual-channel Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections, the S1 Ultra can be controlled and its footage can be viewed remotely on iOS or Android devices. Its memory capacity extends to 512GB, but a 64GB MicroSD card is also included in the kit as standard.
For now, the Miofive S1 Ultra retails at $169.99 / $199.99, with limited period coupons available on Amazon offering up to £30/$40 off.
