RED has recently unveiled new accessory packs designed to complement their KOMODO-X, V-RAPTOR, and V-RAPTOR [X] cinema camera systems. These packs include updated components like a robust mounting bracket for the DSMC3 RED Touch 7” LCD monitor and a revamped top plate with a V-mount power adapter for the V-RAPTOR. Providing a comprehensive, ready-to-shoot camera package, these pre-bundled packs are an ideal option for studios and rental houses.
What’s New in the Accessory Packs?
The company has made some notable improvements to the accessories included in the packs for KOMODO-X, V-RAPTOR, and the top-of-the-range V-RAPTOR [X] and XL [X]. The DSMC3 RED Touch 7” camera control monitor, included in some accessory bundles, now comes with a sturdy, all-metal hinge mount. This enhancement addresses concerns raised by users about the original design, offering increased stability when shooting in demanding situations.
The newly launched V-RAPTOR [X] Production Pack features a Tactical Top Plate with Battery Adapter Plus. This two-part accessory, consisting of a power-capable top plate and a V-mount battery adapter, communicates via a Pogo connection interface. It has 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 mounting points for accessories and integrates two 2-pin AUX power outputs. The battery adapter allows for the mounting of larger V-mount batteries on the back of the V-RAPTOR and includes a 6-pin DC-IN port, a D-Tap connection, and an E-Fuse safety system.
