Canon’s recent debut of its new cinema camera marks an important refresh in its professional video gear line. In response to this, ARRI, renowned for its production-grade camera accessories, launched a unique support system specifically crafted for the Canon EOS C400 Cinema Camera.

Understanding the ARRI Support System

Support systems rank among the myriad of specialized accessories that ARRI designs for professional cameras. In the wake of Canon’s latest RF-mount cinema camera release, ARRI swiftly sprung into action, presenting a robust support system expected to augment the camera’s partiality and versatility for different production requirements.

The ARRI Support System: Expanding Capacity and Versatility

ARRI’s modular top plate is specifically engineered to be compatible not only with ARRI’s CCH-4 top handle and HEX handle extensions but also with Canon’s handle, promising fluid transitions between configurations. The cage system comes with multiple mounting points, with side brackets that double up as NATO rails, furnishing adaptable mounting possibilities and incorporating a safety release mechanism.

The ARRI Advantage: Fast Transitions and Fewer Tools

The installation process of the adapters for the support system’s base plate doesn’t require any tools.

This feature enables the rig to switch effortlessly from a tripod dovetail to a shoulder mount or gimbal in mere seconds. Thanks to ARRI’s Multi-Hex screws, which are compatible with Hex 3, 4, 5, or 5/32” screwdrivers, users can modify their camera settings on-site without the burden of carrying a variety of tools.

Pricing and Availability

ARRI’s support systems will be on offer in four distinctive sets, namely the Basic Cine Set, Pro Cine Set, Basic Broadcast Set, and the Pro Broadcast Set. Pricing details for these sets are yet to be announced. For more detailed specifics, refer to the ARRI website.
