Pushpay, a leading provider of payments and engagement solutions for mission-driven organizations, has released key findings from its 2024 State of Church Technology report on February 6, 2024. The report surveyed over 2,200 church leaders across the U.S. and highlighted the growing importance of technology in church operations.

According to the report, 95% of U.S. churches believe that technology plays a critical role in achieving their mission, with 98% emphasizing the significance of leveraging technology to connect with their community beyond Sunday services.

The study also revealed the enduring popularity of hybrid church services, with 90% of churches currently offering a hybrid model of ministry. Additionally, livestreaming worship services has become increasingly common, with 91% of churches now utilizing this technology.

In terms of emerging trends, the report found that churches are exploring new tools to enhance the digital experience for their members. For example, 33% of churches see artificial intelligence as a strategically important tool in the next few years. Additionally, the use of cryptocurrency donation platforms is on the rise, increasing from 7% to 11% in the past year.

Overall, the report underscores the evolving role of technology in church operations and its importance in facilitating engagement with congregations.
