Sigma is taking big strides in lens evolution with its groundbreaking 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art for L-Mount and Sony E-mount. As Sigma’s flagship lens, it has been meticulously redesigned to make full use of cutting-edge technologies and boost image quality across the entire zoom spectrum.
A Compact Lens With Advanced Features
Gone are the days when enhanced features meant a bigger, heavier lens. Despite being packed with additional features, this upgraded lens is around 7% smaller and 10% lighter than its predecessor. Weighing just 745g, this lens sets a new benchmark in portability.
Feature Expansion in the New Generation
This second installment boasts an adjustable aperture ring, in tune with Sigma’s latest lens additions, and a conveniently positioned second AFL button for straightforward portrait shooting. The buttons offer a range of customizable operations on suitable cameras. Sigma’s linear HLA motor powers the AF actuator in this lens, providing a drive speed triple that of its forerunner.
Resistance and Enhanced Safety
The lens is equipped to handle tough weather conditions and comes with a water- and oil-resistant coating on its frontal element. A 24mm lockable zoom switch prevents unintended lens extension due to weight. The petal-shaped hood also includes a secure lock feature.
